“To Experience The Presence Of A Work Of Art, Is More Important Than Having To Understand It”

Abstract painter and photographer

I was introduced to art at a young age,due to my father being an accomplished painter. However,I didn't embark on painting myself until many years later,as I decided to take a more academic approach to life and pursue engineering;before finally exploring my artistic potential.

I love the process of painting as I find it extremely liberating, there is a definite shift in consciousness taking place that transcends the mind beyond space and time. For me painting is a personal journey,it's an instrument that allows me to connect both my spiritual and emotional spheres.Furthermore, pushing the mind to challenge conventional ideas about reality, thus finding ways to define and examine nature as a whole.

I see myself as an intuitive painter, meaning I rarely work with a preconceived vision for the final product. Thus opening up the space of sensibility, and allowing greater room for other key ingredients to permeate, such as that of spontaneity and the element of surprise to manifest.

I approach my work with gestural expressive lines and an intuitive colour palette, paying great attention to texture and surface tension, in order for each piece to convey a profound and compelling presence.

In later years I stumbled upon Buddhism and developed a strong affinity with the teachings of the Buddha.Centering myself around Buddhist philosophy, has been extremely satisfying and stabilizing for my spiritual platform, providing a rehabilitative premise within me.Buddhist psychology is at the root of my creative process and consequently how I choose to lead my life.

My  artistic direction inevitably reflects my spiritual inclination throughout my work. The message I set out to convey, which is not necessarily evident, but runs through every fiber of my being.

Is that, within our temporal environment, duality is the very ingredient that allows for unlimited potential.

Without duality, we would not be in a position to make choices in order to further keep expanding our awareness.

Contrast is what eventually liberate us all,and yet it's all an illusion.

Thank you for taking the time to familiarise yourself with my story and hope you enjoy my work.
